Hi, my name is Carmen and I am an Emotional Manifesting Generator with a Heretic/Investigator Profile. Born on the Incarnation Cross of Demands in a quiet village in Belgium in 1970, I moved to the Netherlands with my family when I was 5.

From a young age, I was deeply curious about life, questioning truth, God, feelings, and why people are so different. That curiosity never left me. After earning my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Law, I spent several years in the corporate world, exploring different roles, of which my last position was in International Business Development, where I got to combine strategic thinking with cultural connections.

At 28, approaching my Saturn Return, I quit my job and the life I knew, and moved to Georgia, USA, to be with my Czech boyfriend. Everything familiar, known and comfortable, suddenly turned upside down. After a period of explorations, both inward and outward, we eventually settled in Encinitas, a surf town in Southern California. There, we built a house, a home, and a business from the ground up. I became a mother to two daughters—an experience that has been among the most magical of my life.

Along the way in South-California, I discovered light and truth through the teachings of the Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), whose universal teachings to meditation and yoga resonated deeply with me. Only, one question remained still unanswered for me: aren't we all different? and how? Despite exploring all kind of psychological models, systems, and philosophies, none gave me a satisfactory answer.

After taking a sabbatical and traveling for half a year through Central and South America, with our two little girls, then just 2 and 4, we returned to the Netherlands. Not long after we settled, in 2009, I was told about the Human Design system, which marked a clear before and after in my life. This was a synthesis of knowledge that was holistic, accurate and practical. To me, it was the missing piece: and truly as it was also called a "science of differentiation" of who we are, who I am, and what makes us each unique. Instead of a theoretical or intellectual concept, it offered a verifiable self-experiment to be and love yourself, going beyond averages and comparison.

A personal analysis brought me simple and shattering truth. There was no choice for me but to follow this journey, this experiment, and courses. I first learned from Nayla Nasra in the Netherlands, and later from Alokanand Diaz, Lynda Bunnell, Genoa Bliven, Leela Swann-Herbert, Ilse Sendler, and others, besides listening to audio recordings and reading the books from Ra Uru Hu, founder and messenger of HD, who I had the good fortune to meet once.

Approaching my Uranus Opposition, I started to feel changes and see effects in my life of applying my design. For example, in our own family relations, with all 4 members being a different HD type, the simple parenting tools based on my children’s designs helped me guide them to grow up as themselves. In relationship with my husband, it helped us to grow too. 

After becoming a certified analyst, I gave low-key analyses and workshops in the Netherlands, until we moved back in 2016 to the USA, where my husband founded a holistic animal hospital using  integrated medicine. There I assisted in Human Resources, hiring employees and creating a successful team in the fast-growing clinic, with help of Human Design's BG5 business model. I also enjoyed to analyze “mammal designs“ of dogs and cats for their owners when  asked. 

After the business was sold and children left home, which was around my Kiron return, a real transition period, my husband and I travelled through Mexico in 2023, where I decided to become a certified English teacher. We then moved to Mexico, where I currently live, teach English, and give HD analyses and Living Your Design workshops through the instituutvoorhumandesign.nl. 

I’m passionate about using Human Design to empower people to live according to their uniqueness. Especially in these times of change and polarization, trust who you are and take the chance to live your happy life!
